2019 Banyule Children’s Gift Appeal
Help disadvantaged families in Banyule this Christmas.
Every year for over 20 years residents and community groups in Banyule have provided quality new gifts, toys and vouchers to local children and families experiencing financial hardship through the Banyule Children’s Gift Appeal. In 2018, close to 400 children who live and go to school in Banyule received gifts, all thanks to community donations.
Disadvantage and financial hardship affects families in our community through things like being a single parent family, having a disability or having a significant change in circumstance. Christmas and the summer holiday periods can be stressful for families who cannot adequately provide for their children.
This year we need toys suitable for children under 3 years of age, boys and girls aged between 7 and 12 years and donations of money to purchase gift cards for children aged 12 to 16 years. Some popular toy ideas include Lego, bike accessories, craft, jewellery, tea sets and dress-ups, colouring items, toy cars, dolls, building blocks and sports equipment for those over 5 years. Please note, we cannot accept soft toys.
